Fight For Animal Rights

Animals are great little creatures. They give pleasure on many different levels. They are they for beauty, comfort, and love. Animals are creatures of the world that are here for those reasons. We as humans were creatures as animals long ago, but we’ve evolved. Most animals have evolved too, but that does not give them the same right as a human being.

I support Machan’s views on animal rights and livelihood. Animals should not be granted with the same right as we are, as humans. Animals are not even close to being in the same league as humans. Yes animals can feel pain and emotion, but that does not give them rights to freedom that humans have.

I think that the treatment of animals should be learned at a young age. Growing up on a farm, I learned how to treat animals. There is a certain amount of respect that everyone should give to animals. You shouldn’t really be cruel to them. What is the purpose of making a living thing suffer? There is no purpose and its just wrong.

Being on a farm you know the boundaries when it comes to animals and yourself. I had pets and then I had animals. Cats and dogs are usually the favorites when it comes to having pets. They give you pleasure. Chickens and ducks were there for the sole purpose to be eaten, sold, or for eggs. When on a farm, you grow attached to certain animals more easily than others. I would never get attached to cows, because I knew that they wouldn’t be around very long. We would process them. That’s what they are for. I mean I can’t really say that animals are solely here on this planet for our purposes, but when it comes down to my well being, the animal’s life is not really considered.

Most people who have been on holiday abroad should have noticed it.

Stray dogs and cats are on the beaches and streets. Involuntarily we be constantly confronted with the problem of "animal welfare abroad." And who rises up and abroad visited an animal shelter, the images of tortured, neglected and deported four-legged as soon not let go.

Before the start of the tourist season are held each year called purges. An example: Alone in the Romanian city of Brasov 2008, approximately 7000 dogs captured and put to much of it - their fate shared by many thousands.

But now there are ways and means to act in such countries in terms of animal welfare supportive and there are more and more animal lovers who are also active on the borders of Germany. Using German support, for example, employed veterinarians, secured medical care and sufficient food procured. The money for these activities comes mostly from donations or sponsorships. What is the difference between human-being and animal? Human can develop an advanced civilization. The only tool you will likely to see an animal using is a stick or a rock. And even they look clumsy to handle with it. However, we create language, math, music, art…etc. it shows creativity is one of the main point the makes the difference between human and animals.

Human also have a special feature, a sense of guilt, which no other animals have. We all have a basic sense of right and wrong and good and evil. We have a feeling of sin if we kill others. But for animals, they just kill purely to eat, or to defend themselves. They never think if it is right. “Thinking of the future” is also a special feature that only human has. Other animals do not think about afterlife. They just live in the “now”. However, we spend a lot of time to think about the future. We think about ourselves and how we relate to life. We think what happen when we die.

Although it seems we are much advantageous than animals, they also act important in the ecosystem. Animals play a key role in balancing the ecosystem. If they are extinct, it is the greatest threat to human-being as they provide food for every human-being. Without them, there will have insufficient food supply. Many people will die of starvation. Besides, animals are the main food resource for most people. We can get different nutrient from animals. For example, protein is essential for human. It is important for the growth and repair of body tissues. Almost all body structure consists of protein. We need to get several kinds of protein (amino acid). Some amino acid cannot be produced by human body, we can only get them from diet and animals are great source as they contain a lot.

Animals act a main role in food chain. If one species is extinct, the whole food chain is affected and triggers a chain reaction. Moreover, the biodiversity will also be affected. It shows that there will be many disastrous consequence brought by extinction of some animals. So from now on, please treat them nicely!

Nearly all modern-day scientists agree that at least mammals and birds are almost certainly conscious of their emotions. The "Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness" was one clear expression of this consensus.

That animals can consciously suffer almost needs no discussion, but agnostics remain, some of them noble in spirit.

One agnostic animal advocate is Marian Stamp Dawkins, whose "Convincing the Unconvinced That Animal Welfare Matters" encouraged animal advocates not to claim that science knows that animals are conscious and instead to advance other reasons for caring about animals, including human-centered ones. In reply, Marc Bekoff wrote "Dawkins' Dangerous Idea: We Really Don't Know If Animals Are Conscious," arguing that Dawkins was ignoring too much of the overwhelming case for animal consciousness that already exists.
